Every great journey begins with a dream; ours began in 2002 with one simple idea - education should prepare children for life, not just exams.
With 8 students, a heart full of hope, and a belief that learning could be joyful, Sunshine Worldwide School established its foundation in June 2003. From the very beginning, we embraced innovation — a full-day school model, home-cooked lunches, multi-level learning, and a philosophy that celebrated happiness over pressure. What started in a small rented house in Old Goa has grown into one of Goa’s top CBSE and IB World Schools.
With guidance from renowned educators, Ms. Nisha D’Cunha and Ms. Shirin Choksi, we built a school community grounded in values.
With the motto, “freedom without fear, responsibility over discipline, competence over competition, and learning to learn” - we grew from a rented home to a vibrant, purpose-built campus.
Our persistence and commitment towards making education meaningful and inclusive, we gained the CBSE affiliation in 2012 and later became Goa’s only IB World School with IB PYP authorisation in 2020.
Today, we continue to nurture curious, confident, and compassionate learners who are prepared not just for exams, but for life itself.

Founded in June 2003, Sunshine Worldwide School is among the first schools in Goa to combine CBSE excellence with IB learning methodologies. Inspired by the late Mrs. Swaran Khaitan’s vision to create a safe, creative, and nurturing environment, the school was brought to life by her son Deepak Khaitan and daughter-in-law Sapna Khaitan.
While we began as a CBSE school, our Primary Section now follows the IB PYP curriculum. Our approach focuses on holistic child development, nurturing intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth through creative, inquiry-based learning both inside and outside the classroom.
22 years in the making, Sunshine Worldwide School continues to stand apart — an ecosystem of curiosity, creativity, and character. Our pioneering initiatives like no school bells, SALF, and the Business Conclave redefine what holistic education means.

Born in Simla and educated at Lady Irwin College, New Delhi, the Late Mrs. Swaran Khaitan was a woman of grace, strength, and entrepreneurial spirit. Fondly known as Mummyji, was the spirit and soul of Sunshine Worldwide School.
A woman of remarkable strength and grace, she turned every challenge into an opportunity. After the untimely loss of her husband, she embraced new challenges — running a boutique in Aligarh, training local tailors, and managing a school canteen with dedication and heart.
When the Khaitan family founded Sunshine in Goa, Mummyji’s warmth and humility made her beloved by all — students knew her as Dadiji, always ready with a smile or solution. Her dream was simple yet powerful: to see children learn with joy in a nurturing space.
That dream continues to shine bright through every corner of Sunshine — her legacy of love, resilience, and inspiration lives on.
