I am Ms. Sukanti S Chitari a secondary Hindi and Marathi Educator.
From a young age, I was drawn to the world of teaching. I fondly remember playing “teacher and students” games, which planted the early seeds of my passion for this profession. During my B.A. studies, I began tutoring underprivileged children, offering them free tuition. It was both a rewarding experience and a meaningful way to give back to my community.
After completing my B.A., I pursued an M.A. and took my first teaching position at a Penguins School Panjim,, where I taught for one year before getting married. Following marriage, I took a short break, and once my daughter turned two, I completed my B.Ed. Shortly after, I taught for a year at Sanjay Gandhi School in Belgaum. This experience gave me valuable insights into the field and prepared me for my journey ahead.
After moving back to Goa, I joined Sunshine Worldwide School in May 2010, which became a turning point in my career. I was initially intrigued by Sunshine’s unique educational philosophy, which focuses on educators as facilitators who guide students through inquiry-based learning and critical thinking. This approach encourages students to tap into their natural curiosity, apply thinking skills creatively, and make reasoned, ethical decisions.
Sunshine Worldwide School’s environment—nurtured by the management over the years—has been instrumental in fostering this unique learning method. This supportive setting has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally, deeply influencing my perspective on teaching. I feel incredibly fortunate to be a part of such an institution, where teaching is more than just a job; it’s my passion.
