Inclusion Beyond the classroom: My personal journey

Becoming a special educator was something I initially planned for, it was more of a calling one that evolved over time as I discovered the immense impact this field could have, not just on learners but on me as a person. I was the naughtiest and stubborn kid in my early years, and was the most pampered in the family. Years passed, and after completing my higher secondary I chose to pursue a career in special education When I entered the world of special education, I realized it was where I was meant to be. It was during my early days that I saw a different side of teaching, one that wasn’t just about delivering lessons but about making a difference. When I joined sunshine worldwide school, I was both nervous and excited unsure of how things would work. First few months were challenging with the learners. Each challenge had shaped me into a more patient and creative educator. But there was an extreme joy in seeing a learner succeed, knowing that the work your doing is contributing to their growth and development in the ways that extend far beyond the classroom. I have learned that teaching is not just about giving knowledge its about encouraging learners to embrace their differences and carry those lessons with them as they grow. Sunshine worldwide school taught me that inclusion is not just a practice for the classroom, it is something that should extend to all parts of life. Its about being open to others, listening to their experiences and being willing to learn from them. This mindset has helped me build stronger, more respectful relationships with friends, family and even strangers. Being a special educator is not always easy, but it is incredibly fulfilling. Its about making a difference in the lives of children and empowering them to believe in their own potential. As I continue my journey at Sunshine Worldwide school I am reminded every day of why I chose this path, to help learners with special needs realize their dreams and see the world as a place full of possibilities. Every learners deserves the chance to shine and it is my privilege to help make that happen.
